  • Fay Horton Sawyier Predoctoral Fellowship (2023-2025)

    The Sawyier Fellowship is a 1-2 year residential fellowship at Illinois Institute of Technology intended for graduate students at the end stages of their dissertation.

    Fellows are part of IIT’s Center for the Study of Ethics in the Professions, where we engage in collaborative research and various projects, and teach 1 course per semester.

  • Sadler Scholar at the Hastings Center (2021-2022)

    I was part of the first cohort of Sadler Scholars, which received critical feedback on our work from researchers at the Hastings Center and participated in professional developments workshops.

  • Certificate of Advance Study in Clinical Bioethics (2022)

    In 2022, I earned my Bioethics and Health Policy certificate at Loyola’s Neiswanger Institute for Bioethics & Healthcare Leadership, while working on my doctorate.

    The program provided me with the opportunity of not only learning about theories but also about their applications in the clinic through simulations.

    Through the certificate, I learned to use the ACES tool for clinical ethics consultations.

  • A.I. Ethics Workshops at Summer Institute for Technology Ethics (Summer 2021)

    SITE was hosted and organized by Santa Clara University.

    The program was an intensive couple of days of concentrated study, which served as an exposure to the emerging field of technology ethics, with a particular emphasis on AI ethics.

    *Due to COVID-19, that year the program was offered online and through Zoom, instead of at Santa Clara University.

  • Internship at the Unrepresented Patients Project for Illinois (Summer 2018)

    Under the guidance of David Ozar, I interned at the Unrepresented Patients Project helping research the different laws and policies around the country targeting unrepresented patients.

    The goals of the project were to pursue recommendations for changes in the state laws of Illinois.

  • NSF Grant: Cultivating Responsible Wellbeing in STEM: Social Engagement through Personal Ethics (2016-2017)

    The goal of the project was to engage students in deep experiences in which we directly considered social, ethical, and global issues as essential aspects of our educational, research, and career development. It focused on mentoring and helping students engage with and help under-represented populations and marginalized communities.
